Department: Surgery
Position: Scrub Tech
Description: Full-time (80 hours per pay). Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to: Acts as the primary scrub person who handles instruments, surgical counts, supplies, and equipment needed for surgical/diagnostic procedures. Anticipates surgeon’s needs and provides prompt and efficient care for the patient through optimal aseptic scrub techniques. Has basic understanding of procedures being performed and maintains the integrity of the sterile field. Non-scrubbed functions are: room readiness, preparation for surgical procedure with supplies/equipment pulled based on preference cards and patient needs, transporting of patients and equipment operation and assisting with circulating duties under the immediate supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists in ordering/stocking of supplies, prepares instruments/supplies for sterilization and in maintaining a safe, clean environment. Must be a High School graduate or GED equivalent. Graduate of a Surgical Technology school. Some previous experience in hospital-oriented field preferred. Must have current CPR certification.
