Highland District Hospital's Surgery Department has a longstanding reputation for providing caring close to home. The highly trained staff takes pride in the quality and kindness of the care that they provide to each and every patient. By gathering an outstanding group of surgeons and surrounding them with a highly skilled group of anesthetists and nurses, Highland District Hospital can assure both patients and families that they are getting the best of care, close to home.
Directions Enter the hospital through the main enterance. A volunteer will be at the Information Desk to assist you to the Outpatient Surgery department. If a volunteer is assisting another patient/visitor, then proceed through the main door, turn right and follow the signs to the elevator, and take the elevator to the second floor. Once on the second floor, the Outpatient Surgery departement is to your left. There is a waiting area outside of the department as well.

Dr. Schott treats patients requiring general eye care and is also board certified to provide complete medical and surgical eye care such as cataract removal and lens implant, as well as tear duct probing to remove blockage that can be experienced at all ages from infancy to senior years. He also performs trabeculectomy, surgical treatment for glaucoma to relieve eye pressure, and glaucoma implant to enhance the glaucoma surgery for longer lasting results. Other types of procedures include: chalazion repair (removal of lumps in eyelid); ectropion repair (sagging and outward turning of the lower eyelid and eyelashes) and temporal artery biopsy (to check for inflammation or damage to the temporal artery).
