Highland District Hospital Foundation Receives Appalachian Regional Commission Grant
Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). The grant will be help purchase a Digital Mammogram Unit, which will advance the ability to detect breast cancer.
“This grant will help the hospital provide the best quality care with state-of-the-art equipment,” said Jason Wilson director of the Governor’s Office of Appalachia. “Early detection of breast cancer can make the difference, and we’re happy ARC is supporting the hospital as it works to save lives.”
The Appalachian Regional Commission grants provide funding for projects that improve the standard of living for residents the Appalachian region. This project supports the ARC’s goal to strengthen the capacity of the people of Appalachia to compete in the global economy by supporting local efforts to improve medical facilities, equipment and technology in Appalachia Ohio.
“We are pleased to work with the Governor’s Office of Appalachia and the ARC to provide funding for the hospital to bring the latest in technology for early detection of breast cancer,” said Vicki Rhude, Foundation Chairman Director.
“The purchase of a Digital Mammography Unit will allow Highland District Hospital to continue to provide high quality diagnostic care for the citizens of Highland and surrounding counties with state-of-the-art technology,” said Jim Baer, President of Highland District Hospital.
