At Highland District Hospital, protecting your personal health information is one of our top priorities. That’s why, starting Sunday, May 18, 2025, we will be enhancing the security of our MyChart system by requiring two-factor authentication (2FA) for all users.
What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of protection when signing into your account. In addition to your username and password, you’ll be asked to verify your identity using a code sent to your mobile phone or email. This helps ensure that only you can access your personal health information.
Why Are We Making This Change?
As part of a system-wide upgrade to our Epic electronic health record, this added security step will help protect sensitive data and keep your information secure. It’s a simple change that adds a powerful layer of defense against unauthorized access.
What You Need to Do
Starting May 18, when logging into your MyChart account, you’ll be prompted to set up two-factor authentication. The process is quick and easy, and clear step-by-step instructions will be provided.
You can also enable 2FA ahead of time for a smoother transition. Visit our MyChart Help Center for video tutorials and tip sheets to guide you through the setup—whether you’re enabling it early or on the day it goes live.
